Transition Town Romsey is setting up a community energy group in Test Valley. Dragonfly Power will install and manage renewable energy equipment at sites across the borough and beyond. The prime objective of Dragonfly Power is to install more renewable energy equipment across Test Valley, which would reduce the dependence on fossil fuels. We have grand launch event of Dragonfly Power together with Community Energy South and Test Valley Borough Council. The event is in on the evening of Tuesday 13th June at Stockbridge Town Hall. It would be great to see you there. Please register via this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/test-valley-community-energy-launch-event-tickets-633979889917
The group has the support of Hampshire County Council, Test Valley Borough Council and Romsey Future. Initially, it will identify suitable locations where they can install solar panels on roofs of suitable schools and businesses.
There are also opportunities for groups like Dragonfly Power to be partners in the delivery of energy efficiency advice and initiatives to tackle fuel poverty funded by central government or other third parties. Dragonfly Power will be guided by a Development Group of a core of people with time to commit to the project. In time this will be supported by an Advisory Group comprising all those who are interested and have skills that can be called upon from time to time. Please get in touch if you want to be involved in any way.
